The Virtue of Patience

Patience is not the ability to wait, but the ability to keep a good attitude while waiting.

Patience is needed with everyone, but first and formeost with ourselves.

How do you treat yourself? Do you talk to yourself with a kind and loving voice? We can’t be kind and loving toward others until we’ve learned to be kind, accepting, and respectful with ourselves. To live this way, we must give ourselves the gift of patience. This means that our inner voice will be like that of a loving parent who helps their child with a new task.

Time is nature’s way of keeping everything from happening at once. Time always seems to pass too slowly or too quickly.

We want time to feel like opposites; we want the fun times to last longer, and the boring or painful times to go faster. This is what we want, but we must accept the fact that time goes at just the right pace. If it went any faster, we wouldn’t have enough time to learn as we go. And if it went any slower, we’d lose interest.

We must respect the pace of time.

Let go, and let time go at it’s own pace.

THIS is Patience.
