All of us have a child inside, and for this child, nothing is impossible.
Hold the hand of the child that lives in your soul.
We may see that child as a friend, or sometimes as an enemy. We might think that as adults, we must ignore the voice of our inner child, but deep down inside, we all have a child’s spirit, even though we might think that growing up means doing away with our inner child, as if being a child was bad and being an adult is good.
Regardless, we all have that inner child within us. If we try to be only an adult, that inner child cries, “Let me turn free and show you the beauty of the world “.
On the other hand, if we try to be only children, that would not good either. We find the adult in us saying, “It’s time to grow up “. This is the voice of the inner critic telling ourselves that we are not good enough. It’s the blames and judges. It’s a voice that takes away our self-confidence and trust.
We need the balance. To live in the present, not to feel the shame and frustration from the past or the worries of the future. The adult needs the wonder found in the eyes of the child, and the child needs the loving care of the adult.
Being connected with the unlimited loving power of ה’ is the right balance for us. That is the connection that allows us to accept ourselves with compassion.
